Two weeks ago we experienced a rate fall of 0.5% over a week's time. This movement in the interest rate had buyers out and shopping. Buyers - my advice is to buy now and refinance when the rates drop again. When the rates level out closer to the 5-6% range, we will be seeing the not-so-fun multiple offers and bidding wars of 2021-2022. Sellers - if you are in a house with an interest rate below 3% or less I would suggest you consider keeping this home and turn it into an investment property. Most reputable authorities agree we will likely never see a rate below 5% again. With as little as 3-5% down on your next purchase, you can easily buy now and rent your current home.
